Distances between characteristic locations of function plots can
be marked and measured. The
button or the Measure item of
the Manipulate menu switches
on this option: the appropriate buttons become available in the toolbar - see
the following subsections. If the button is released, the measure function is
switched off.
Place measurement lines along the
x-axis - the
toolbar button
Press the
button to place vertical measurement lines along the x-axis. When the button is pushed in, a vertical line is drawn at any location inside the active plot window for a left-click with the mouse. A right-click on a measurement line removes the line in question.
Figure 4-39: Measuring distances between peaks in differential structure functions (plot is composed by adding results of various measurements to a single plot)
If space allows, measuring arrows together with the numerical value of the distance between adjacent measuring lines are drawn in the top area of the plot, see Figure 4‑39. Zoom functions and copy to clipboard are available during the measurement on curves.
Place measurement lines along the
y-axis - the
toolbar button
Pushing in the
button switches to the measurement along the y-axis. The operation is identical to the measurement along the x-axis. In this case measurement arrows and measured values are placed at the right hand side of the plot (Figure
4-40).

Remove measurement lines - the
toolbar button
All measurement lines are removed if one presses the
button.
Any measurement line can be removed individually with a click of the right
mouse button on it.
