What is SUNRED?

SUNRED is a 2D-3D simulator for thermal and electrostatic field calculations.

Why choose SUNRED?

SUNRED’s simple user interface enables easy problem definition and interactive presentation of the simulation results. The problem is defined by bitmap images allowing rapid problem setup and easy definition of arbitrarily-shaped structures.  A consistent look-and-feel is provided throughout the program. Menus as well as tool-buttons with tool-tips make navigation easy. The use of real, microscopic images is facilitated in order to support the description of the exact geometry of real microstructures. The solution is calculated in a very dense grid (e.g. 128x128 or 256x256 points in a layer), and a sophisticated algorithm handles the temperatures of over 120000 grid points. The solution is direct, without iteration steps. The program is well suited for IC, MCM, PCB and MEMS simulations as well as for the study of different IC packages.
